Training Programm for Psychological Psychotherapy

We are a state-recognized psychotherapeutic training and treatment institution.

The Friedrich Schiller University of Jena's continuing education program in psychological psychotherapy offers full-time and part-time training as a psychological psychotherapist with a focus on behavioral therapy. We create an optimal learning environment through small, constant training courses. We attach great importance to modern behavioral therapy, which integrates learning theory approaches, cognitive therapies and third-wave methods. Numerous additional events offer the opportunity for individual, interest-related in-depth study. Cost coverage without profit orientation is particularly important to us.

Since 2007, 106 graduates have successfully completed the continuing education program with their license to practice. The WPP is thus making a significant contribution to the training of the profession and ensuring future care.

It is particularly important to us to place scientifically based psychotherapeutic practice at the forefront of our participants' training. Knowledge and methods are taught by renowned teachers with a high level of clinical expertise and many years of practical experience who have been recruited throughout Germany. The simultaneous consideration of the current state of research guarantees a scientifically sound education. We consistently implement the guidelines for quality assurance (e.g. video-based supervision, evaluation of teaching, practical work, supervision and outpatient training) in our training. The consistently very good evaluation results of our graduates confirm this approach.

Outpatient Clinic for Psychotherapy

Psychotherapeutic treatments for adults are offered in our Outpatient Clinic for Psychotherapy The costs of therapy can generally be covered by statutory health insurance.

Our outpatient clinic contributes significantly to psychotherapy research with the data from the average of 700 patients treated per year. This includes project and research work by the FSU Jena on the effectiveness of depression treatment in outpatient practice, preventive concepts and self-help tools while waiting for a psychotherapy place, as well as studies on the acceptance and effectiveness of telephone and video therapy in the context of the corona pandemic.

Furthermore, the outpatient clinic participates in the nationwide research network Coordination of Data Collection and Evaluation at Research, Teaching and Training Outpatient Clinics for Psychotherapy (KODAP). The aim of the KODAP research network, which is sponsored by <unith>, is to create a research platform for as many research and teaching outpatient clinics as possible, as well as the <unith> training outpatient clinics, in order to be able to work on clinical-psychological and epidemiological research questions in the field of psychotherapy research on the basis of large data pools. Currently (as of May 2020), 42 <unith> research and training outpatient clinics are participating in the initiative.

The satisfaction of our patients is particularly important to us, which is why we introduced our patient survey in 2016 and evaluate the results annually. The patients' assessments, wishes and ideas have given us many valuable suggestions on how we can further improve our work.
